Spring is the time for a new beginning

I think everybody has those periods in life where you feel as if you don’t know where your life is going. Your hopes and dreams are just floating along with the rest of your obligations and you find yourself pretty much feeling lost.


I would be lying if I said this only happens to me once in a blue moon because the reality is that I usually feel like this after accomplishing a huge goal. Suddenly there’s nothing centering me or occupying all of my focus and it feels like I can do everything and anything but then I don’t set a game plan.

My secret key

Today, I want to share with you something that continuously has helped me in the past, present, and future. It is my ultimate go-to when I am feeling just a bit down about life and need that push that you cannot receive from anywhere else. It is Rhonda Byrne’s Gratitude-Magic Challenge from The Secret book series.


The actual book is called The Magic and it is a 28-day challenge in which everyday you do a task that requires you to be grateful about a particular area of your life. It is a fantastic ritual that I do about 3 times a year and although I almost never complete all the days, it has always helped me focus on I achieve some of my most sought after goals.


To give you some background info, I have a bachelor’s degree in music from a respected university, however, my dream job was in marketing. I knew that I was going to have to achieve some miracle in order to get what I wanted but I so strongly believe in the law of attraction and my faith that I knew things would work out.


For example, the last time I did the Magic Challenge was back in December 2016 when I was still working in retail. I wanted to attract the perfect job to me. I got VERY clear about the little details that I wanted.


Here’s what I wrote down:

I wanted to work for a company similar to The Every Girl, Refinery29, and Bloguettes

Any marketing company targeted at empowering people/millennial women or underprivileged youth

Fantastic company culture =  happy and positive vibes

Generous benefits, PTO, vacations, flexible hours

Somewhere I get to learn a lot about SEO, publishing, PR, video, photos, writing, editing

The best coworkers who become good friends and challenge me to grow and strive for more

A boss who is easy to talk to, down-to-earth, cares about their employees, is a great mentor


In January 20, 2017 I accepted an offer for a skincare company targeted at millennials but our demographic audience is mostly women. Our goal is to empower youth/anybody who suffers from acne or wants clear skin and I am their social media and community outreach coordinator. It is a part-time job which has given me flexible hours, I am learning about all facets of marketing, my supervisor is the sweetest human being on this Earth and is the greatest mentor I could have asked for.


Simply writing about what I accomplished with this challenge is giving me goose bumps! My closest friends know that I swear by this mini-series of gratitude and I’ve even convinced them to join me!


So this is my invitation to all of you out there to follow along and achieve the life of your dreams through gratitude.


I’ll be posting every day to keep myself accountable :)


Day 1:

Sit down with a computer or pen and make a list of what you really want in every area of your life. Think through every detail and be very specific. Categories can include relationships, career, finances, health, and every area that is important to you.


Remember your job is simply to list what you want, not how you’re going to get what you want. The “how” will be done for you when gratitude works its magic.


First thing in the morning or as early as you can in the day, Count your Blessings. Make a list by hand or type them up, whatever is easiest on you.


Write down 10 things that you are grateful for


Ex: I am truly blessed to have my health because without it I could not do half of the things that I want to do in life.


Replace health with whatever you are grateful for and be sure to add why you are grateful. The key is to feel gratitude pouring out of you every time you write down a reason.
